Invacare Top End has just come out with the world's first recumbent handcycle for kids—the Excelerator XLT Jr. Designed for little people 5 years old and up to small adults, the bike uses the same aluminum oval tubing as its big brother. The kid-size 20-in. wheels with 15 degrees of camber give the bike a low-to-the-ground stable ride. Gear changing is handled by a Shimano seven-speed hub, while a reversing drum brake lets kids brake with the pedals. The Jr. edition carries a suggested retail price of $1695.
